Nancy O'Dell's debut position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter for WCBD-TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with care, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter direction for state officials. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell was a co-anchor and investigative reporter for the NBC Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor and a weekday reporter. Alongside her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and also to Dateline NBC. She has covered such events as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of shows that were pre-showarrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
