Maria brink......................Maria Brink was born on December 18 1977 into a troubled family in New York. Her father had abandoned the family at an extremely young age. At age 14 Brink fell pregnant and had to leave high school. After having the birth of her child Davion she was able to move into an apartment and began working at a local laundromat in order to pay for her rent and bills. Brink began her first band Pulse with a base on the streets of Albany New York. The band mainly opened for local bands like Coal Chamber or Sevendust. The group broke up later. When she was 25, she relocated to California to Los Angeles, looking for the big break. Brink was working in shops as well as singing in bars and caf s as she searched for a new musical group. In two years, Brink came across Chris Howorth (now a band member) at an audition. Howorth refused to speak with her because she was a woman. He changed his mind and even apologized for his decision after listening to her sing. Dying Stars is the name they gave their band, which they created with drummer Jeff Fabb. Later the guitarist Blake Bunzel joined the band as did Bassist Josh Newell. In This Moment changed their name after just two concerts.
